About me...

I've literally grown up in the food business. From my earliest days I recall accompanying my father to the various kitchens he managed as a regional foodservice manager, catering chef and restaurant owner. Food is in my blood.

So the decision to pursue a career in nutrition wasn't hard. It was a natural step. In doing so I was always in front of groups of various sizes made up of people from every background. Yet I never felt the confidence I knew I should have in order to sell the message of good health through good nutrition.

Then came the Toastmaster organization. It's the biggest, and in my opinion the best, way to consistently improve your speaking and leadership skills. I'm currently at an advanced level designation in this group, working my way up to distinguished status.

My formal education includes a BA and MS in human nutrition from San Diego State University. I was fortunate to complete these degrees in a food paradise, where my education about different cultures enhanced my knowledge of the art of nourishment.

I've also completed courses in professional training skills and mediation, which are areas of communication most health professionals use often.

Like you, I'm still on the road toward better communication. Since I've worked in all kinds of healthcare environments I hope to use this experience to help you reach your goal of speaking better. So let's travel this exciting path and learn to Speak Up!
